No. No, we can’t “move on” from the election, because elections have consequences. We will never be able to “move on” because we will be continuously fucked by those consequences, in the ass with no lube, for the rest of our lives.
Even if Trump and the GOP give up power and the US holds free and fair elections in four years, an absolute fuck-ton of permanent damage will have been done in the meantime.
There are so many things at stake, but people really don’t know how bad Trump’s supreme court has fucked the environment already. Getting the average voter to care about it won’t happen until it’s far too late. I try to just not think about it.
Lucky for you thanks for MAGA and non voters there will not be another free US election
Sounds pretty fucking privileged that you even have the option of moving on from the topic
As a Brazilian nervously watching the unfolding of a potentially global mess, I bring you the best Brazil can offer: memes! Here’s a pretty relatable one (Original cartoon from Maurício de Souza, Turma da Mônica)
That’s accurate to how I feel inside. GOP got it all. So nothing can really stop their agenda. Which sucks if you’re not white male.
judging by project 2025 they can stop their own agenda by not being able to agree what it is.
I thought the image would reflect the GOP right now. Instead here I am with egg on my face.
Unfortunately, one thing with GOP is they may disagree but tend to fall in line.
Attention everyone there was a major US election that took place 2 days ago resulting in Trump winning
If you get on social media for the next month (probably more) you are going to see politics unless you filter it out or get off social media
“Can we just get over the fact that your foot is blown off? It’s bumming me out.”
No
When has apathy ever backfired though??
Totally unrelated question. I just noticed the door and its locks. Does it have four locks? Or is it a lock above each doorknob? I’ve never seen a door like that.
Often when tenants lose keys to a deadbolt, a shady landlord or superintendent will say the knob lock is “good enough” to avoid paying to have the deadbolt replaced. Consequently, tenants might install their own deadbolts.
You might ask, why not just replace the existing lock!? Well, the super is going to call a locksmith to do that, and the locksmith can charge more for installing a new lock rather than replacing the old one. Plus, an extra lock when everyone’s is home for the evening == extra security.
This election is likely going to be looked back on as the point when things became completely untenable in the 21st century. The American empire will implode, billions will suffer, the climate emergency will accelerate to maximum, and geopolitical dynamics will become incredibly unstable. Shit is about to go fully awry. This was it, and the people who are already bored about it have played no small part in getting us here.
Oh good grief.
You think I’m being melodramatic? Historians make careers on turning points like this. We can never know exactly what will happen next, but we can at least be sure that normality is not on the menu.
My guess is that when asked if we could stop talking about it for a bit, you decide to multi-post your theses.
No one is arguing against you, just read the room before you spam it.
That ain’t me, I barely post… Though I do sometimes say too much.
A lot more ink is going to be spilled on this as it unfolds, and that too is what the people voted for - drama.
Not me. Anyways, I’m going to find another community.
Don’t let the door hit you
Yeah, it’s dramatic nonsense to assume Trump will do what he and his party said he’ll do.
…
Do I need this? /s
It may not surprise you that the person you responded to was a hard defender of banned troll universalmonk.
I’m happy to not know who that is :-) it means my filters are working.
nice apathy + username combination
don’t worry- things have been stable since mcdonalds! nothing can change, just ask Turkey
Those who choose to abstain from politics submit to being ruled by their inferiors.
No no no, why would we want to MOVE on from this 🧐👆. I MUST voice out my DISSATISFACTION with this election’s results 😤🇺🇸 even in NOn political spaces 💪 in the process shrouding other content that has nothing to do with it👏. I must also make it known to NON AMERICANS just how much this affects them as well 😔😔 because AMERICA 🇺🇸😤🦅 is the CENTER OF THE WORLD.
RAHHHH!! WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETER!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅👮🔫🔫🔫🔫🙍🏿♂️
this, but unironically. Largest economy in the world, largest military in the world, and we just handed it to a giant toddler who thinks I should be tortured and killed for being gay. If you think you won’t be affected, then you’re as stupid as I am for thinking this country had a chance.
What a narcissistic thing to say: “oH, We HavE tHe LArGeST EConOMy, mILItaRY, and blah blah blah”. There are many countries in the world that have dealt with serious problems before Trump was ever elected, would have still dealt with those problems if Kamala won the election, and will continue to face these problems after Trump’s term.
You’re speaking from your high seat of privilege ignorant of the happenings in other places. What gives you the right to tell me how my life is going to be affected because of this. Like Kamala was some fucking Messiah that would have rid the world of all its problems.
Get off your high horse man. There are places that have been shitty before you were ever born, and will be shitty after your death.
Considering it affects a lot of people, negatively, it is rightfully a topic.
Oh don’t worry. Many from Europe/Germany are focusing on our broken government right now.
More like this…
This is a big topic after all so there is no way one can just “move on”.
