It seems like many in here dont realise that you can be gay and masculine at the same time.
In the same way that you can be straight and feminine at the same time.
then why are my masc 4 masc posts never answered
I would argue that people who feel the need to prove their masculinity tend to be the ones not realizing that, and people here are making fun of that.
Shhh don’t tell the men insecure in their masculinity about bears, gay jocks, and Tom of Finland
One sure sign that you’re not masculine, is doing things to show others how masculine you are.
I looked him up and he is English. Weren’t English sailors called Limeys because of the lime juice in their rations, specifically for scurvy prevention? He should have signed up with the Admiralty instead of the pirates.
Funny enough…
-
Yes.
-
The lime juice was meant as a cheaper alternative to lemon juice. And it wasn’t very effective, lmao. National militaries and sabotaging the health of their troops to save a buck - name a more iconic duo.
It was cheaper in the sense of they imported from limes from the Carribean and lemons from India, which with no Suez canal is a pretty big difference. And at the same time they invented steam power, shortening voyages so the reduced effectiveness wasn’t noticed until longer voyages due to newer military doctrines occurred again
Well, the reduced effectiveness was noticed. It created significant uncertainty, funny enough, over the actual causes of scurvy, since apparently citrus fruit wasn’t enough, until more rigorous studies happened in the 20th century.
thats true, i took vitamin c like crazy when i was out of copper, it didnt do a thing. so i tried copper, was fine for a while, got worse again despite copper, then took vitamin c. went from looking like a corpse in looking merely a bit sick in 24 hours.
“National militaries and sabotaging the health of their troops to save a buck - name a more iconic duo.”
That literally sounds like america though
It’s, sadly, applicable to most militaries throughout history and the modern day.

haha, happened to me:
its copper deficency by zink overload.-
without copper, there is multiple things that go wrong. but it takes time to deplete copper stores. zink always wins against copper, and meat is full of zink.
vitamin c d, and iron wont work without copper.
I did that because I develeoped grain allergy, and was insuline resistant.
I eat grains again, but sparingly.
went down from 95 kilos to 65.
fun fact:
nobody talks about that. carnivore influencer dont, thats for sure.

But grains are delicious and filling
I lOVE bread and noodles.
But I hate having stomach cramps, needing 20 tons of toilet paper for one poop, constant bloatet stomach, well, and hypertension, skin problems, inflammation and anxiety. psorias, heart arrytmia.
its all gone now.
Why is everything enjoyable a curse?!
Food wise? Oh that’s easy.
Fats and salts, before agriculture and animal domestication, were hard to get a significant amount of in our diets, and the plants we foraged were usually much lower in starch and higher in fiber. Our bodies are geared to focus on these nutrient sources, so starches fats and salts taste really, really good.
Agriculture short circuited that focus as we produced and cultivated plants that were starchier, sugarier, and animals in general tripped our ‘mmmm delicious’ buttons much better than their uncultivated ancestors.
So basically it’s REALLY easy in our modern diets to get WAY too much starch, salt, and fat because our appetites are geared by millions of years of evolution but we have only been agricultural for a hundred thousand years at the very most and our biology hasn’t caught up.
So we take in a LOT more of the ‘good stuff’ that our body wants, and too much of anything is not good.
Hence the modern obesity epidemic and the rise of type 2 diabetes.
People like to whine it is a personal willpower problem, but it really isn’t.
It’s a food supply problem. 60% of the space in our grocery stores is just made up of various nutritionally empty configurations of starch, fat, and salt.
The word “carnivore influencer” just set me off haha.
It’s so fucking obvious is it that these people are paid by the meat industry.
Like, seriously. NOBODY has ever thought eating nothing but meat was a good idea until veganism became somewhat mainstream.
It’s reactionary bullshit to keep the profits coming.
It’s so fucking obvious is it that these people are paid by the meat industry.
I disagree. I think many of them are legitimately just that stupid.
Although some probably are paid.
I did that because of prediabetis, that worked. many people do it because they suffer. should have informed me about vitamins though. i did stop eating many vegtabls, because i suffered from migraines, and my skin burned, and my nose was always blocked. for that, it worked as well.
well, there is plenty folks from around earth that only eat meat. but they know what to eat ;-) and I think they eat fish as well.
In medival times if you could afford to only eat meat it meant you were a rich soft fancy boy.
Pretty much the same as now then.

here, sadly it is in german, but this guy is an absolute expert in medival history
he talks extensivly about food in medival times.
ACTUALLY rich people loved to eat white bread. white bread was expensive
And for the longest time, mac and cheese was a luxury dish, and lobster was considered prisoner food.
It’s kind of amusing to see the eating trends of the wealthy.
At one point peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were rich food too, because they were able to afford the berries to make jam, or had land to grow them.
Nowadays it is some of the cheapest lunch you can make.
I think meat is going that route now, and in 15-20 years the only people who will be able to afford real meat will be the wealthy.
That’s not super accurate, there were still public lands for hunting and chickens and goats were eaten regularly by non-nobles.
That said, it wasn’t common to have meat at every meal.
Also: feast days, and there were a fucktonne of them (more than the pitiful handful we get nowadays) and were almost always catered lavishly by their local lord as a show of wealth.
I’m not saying life was ‘better’ then, just that we have a lot of misconceptions about historic periods, usually influenced by movies and other entertainment media.
Should’ve eaten some sauerkraut and fried onions! The manliest of all vegetables! Has the bonus effect of repelling ladies up to 5 feet away!
Keeping femalehood at bay, now THAT’s masculine af
Wow, guess he just wasn’t manly enough.
TBH it’s not impossible to derive necessary vitamins from raw herbivore livers, as many early humans assuredly did when crops were scarce.
He’s just a pussy.
You think early humans ate raw livers for vitamin C? Sounds unlikely. We are omnivores, and except for rare exceptions (I.e. on the Northpole) plant material is more abundant than animals.
Yes, sufficient Vitamin C is in raw liver.
Before the age of human agriculture we were endurance hunters. Don’t believe me? Go survive off of random unidentified plants for a while. (Don’t actually, you’ll be dead in a month tops).
That’s discounting the cultural plant knowledge that those hunter gatherers had.
100k years of ‘Don’t eat that, it kill Grog remember?’ can lead up to a pretty extensive safe list of wild plants as well as a bunch of useful healing herbs.
We’ve long since forgotten most of it, having not needed it since agriculture.
I’m unaware of these 100k year documents, please present it.

Jesus must have left them in South America next to the Golden Tablets?
Livers were prized parts of the animal for hunts, we knew the value of organ meat before.
Just now everyone is like ‘ick, organ meat’…
That said, I don’t know if I trust modern livers, they are the toxin dump of the body and while I’d happily eat liver before the industrial revolution, I’m not sure its safe to eat now considering how we treat our farmlands.
Yeah I’m not suggesting anybody get parasites to prove how manly they are, but clearly the guy didn’t even know the basics of nutrition.
Most people don’t bother looking into it other than what they read on blogs or see on youtube. There’s a LOT of nutritional misinfo going around. Thats what happens when social media values reach and clout over accuracy and meaning.
Taking care of yourself is gay. “Real men” reduce their life expectancy by purposefully living an unhealthy lifestyle.
Damn, I never realized I was so masculine!
The whole man flu thing is also goofy because I’m pretty sure I’ve read men typically avoid going to the doctor for things they absolutely should be going to the doctor over. Then again, it’s my understanding that doctors will blow off things women tell them so it’s just an overall shitty state of affairs.
Uhh, I once found good information on why that is:
Testosterone raises the pain threshold, so men are usually more resistant to pain and more prone to “tough it out”. But Testosterone also makes people more vulnerable to typical cold and flu symptoms.
So while men do have a higher pain tolerance than non-pregnant women (pregnancy hormones really hit different) they also suffer more severe symptoms.
I literally don’t believe that about testosterone and pain, and yes I looked up studies and they are there, you are correct. I think it’s probably cognitive priming affecting results, the idea men should be more resistant to pain so they do so, similar to how IQ tests cause discrepancies (See: Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine).
In my actual experience as a proDominatrix beating people, men with testosterone tolerate SIGNIFICANTLY less pain than estrogenized counterparts. And these are men in MMA and former military etc. They just can’t mentally handle agony the same for the most part. I don’t think they enjoy the sensate texture of pain like women subs do. Stuff that makes women moan and whimper makes men scream and yelp and jump back in shocked pain. And perhaps this has to do with cognitive priming relating to their perception of me; however I will say even pretransition subs follow this. A transwoman who has never taken hormones tolerates pain the same as a ciswoman in my experience. I think we force women to tolerate abuse automatically and they just tend to deal with it better, and enjoy playing with the sensation more. I also think women tend to be more skilled at empathy and tend to tolerate pain better when I’m feeling something strongly - I think they go on my emotional journey as a Domme to escape their emotional journey as a sub.
Re: cognitive priming - Look at all the videos of period cramp simulators - men have been cognitively primed to quit earlier and do quit most of the time while women chill and pokerface.
And I’ve had other Dom(mes) agree, including male Doms, about this. Women tolerate pain and violence more in real life settings, and also tend to request it more.
Now there are two distinct parameters of pain tolerance and maybe that’s where the study is confusing itself, because I don’t see clarity between these definitions. One is pain sensitivity, how much pain you actually feel. There is a woman in the UK with a lot of natural anandamide* who isn’t senstive to pain at all - but if she feels equivalent pain to another person for some reason, it’s possible she cannot tolerate it the same. Tolerating pain is different than how much pain we actually feel, but science has a hard time measuring these things. Perhaps testosterone does indeed help “numb” people to pain, but I still think women tolerate or endure actual pain sensation better.
Oh and PS cognitive priming is likely why men don’t go to the doctor as well
Excellent write up. I think there are different kinds of pain and we’d need to measure to account for that.
When I’m at the BDSM club the women generally want and can take more pain. (Some guys are totally insane though.)
When I’m in my gravel biking group it’s very much the opposite. The dudes will slide down 20 ft of gravel and their legs look like someone took a cheese grater to them. They have a laugh, hop back on the bike, and finish the ride with blood in their shoes. The ladies generally take a little spill and loose a little skin and they are crying and want help walking their bike back to the car. (Some chicks are hard as nails though.)
I’m pretty sure I’ve read men typically avoid going to the doctor for things they absolutely should be going to the doctor over.
Maybe we should be looking into the cause of this and rectifying the cause instead of just leaving it as some random thing and I mean actually look into the cause and not speculate based on bigoted or misinformed biases
“Fuck yeah! My low testosterone, erectile dysfunction and abysmal fitness are just due to my 380 pound pure manliness!” - A “real” man
It must be because I’m not eating enough meat! I better eat even less vegetables and more meat!
“You wouldn’t pirate an illness”
Broccoli and tomatoes are okay, but carrots are questionable, and zucchini is hella gay.
Zucchini is shaped like a penis. It doesn’t get any more manly than that.
that just reminds me of a shitty intelligent design meme where all the foods look like the organ they say they’re good for.
My new proposed man diet is bananas, cucumbers, mushrooms, and animal dicks. Manliest of diets.
The Doctrine of Signs, haha good memories.
Just as an aside: It has its roots in the ancient greek philosophers and was considered for centuries to be the pinnacle of rational thought. I mean, it wasn’t, but for literally more than a thousand years it has been a form of mental masturbation amongst the oldschool academic elite.
Got a lot of shelf fungus prescribed as ear medication lol
Fellas is it gay to be healthy
It’s gay that he didn’t hunt it himself that bottom bytch
To be fair, he said he did this his first year in college- everyone did dumb shit in college.
Real men aren’t afraid to eat oranges or take vitamin C. Real men eat whatever the hell they want, not what they think will impress the other boys.
This is my favorite take. My wife’s a teacher so I hear (by proxy) all sorts of hot takes on masculinity. All sorts of Andrew Tate shit. Even some in relation to a Canadian pill addict psychologist.
I’ve always thought the most masculine thing was to not bother yourself with the opinions of lessers.
Does this canadian pill addict psychologist sound like Kermit?
The masculine thing is to be assured in yourself and not seek validation through unscientific nonsense.
But… But… consider the lobster…
Not about lessers, just others.
You do you is a great mantra, as long as you doing you isn’t negatively affecting others.
According to the internet, he did it at university, eating nothing but mince, chicken, and mayonnaise for about 2 months. He did so to annoy other students in his classes who were vegan or vegetarian.
I’ve actually heard a few stories of uni students getting scurvy, although they were because they either didn’t know how to cook or couldn’t afford food.
That makes more sense. Although I think the carnivore diet is stupid, most people that are doing it or similar diets eat organ meats, many of which contain sufficient vitamin C among many other important vitamins and minerals.
Eating chicken salad with a spoon every day seems like it would cause all kinds of dietary issues.
Fellas is it gay to eat fruits and veggies
No way bro, now get these bananas and cucumbers all up in your pretty mouth, yeah, do it bitch
