Reddit -> Beehaw until I decided I didn’t like older versions of Lemmy (though it seems most things I didn’t like are better now) -> kbin.social (died) -> kbin.run (died) -> fedia.
Japan-based backend software dev.

I somehow flipped over one of the bars and bashed my head on the deck (wooden on ours rather than metal) when I was around 6 or 7 years old. No stitches, though I don’t see any noticeable scar. I don’t remember much aside from seeing blood and a headache.
I have an LG with WebOS and have youtube premium and haven’t seen any ads so far (though it may be regional). Cheers for the link, tough. I wonder if it works on Japanese versions
LG, back when I bought sliced bread, except for when the container was getting its occasional wash. In those cases CN or, more rarely, NE.
I switched to making better bread at home that could just chill on the counter as-is (cut side down) for days without issue. Then we figured out that part of my stomach issues are due to gluten (awaiting endoscopy for confirmation, but probably celiac based on an old DNA test that said I was likely, my dad officially getting it, and a host of symptoms that mostly went away when doing low-/no-carb diets).
In that great ass they call gichagumee (or something like that)
Scishow tangents theme song in my ass
The latter is just an unsigned int that got a little too excited
That’s an option here in Japan, though most don’t use it. I’m pretty sure some people sell that style in the US as well. I use one that has a hole but no cardboard insert.
I’m shocked people didn’t realize this. Maybe it was obvious to me because I was playing valve games before steam came out? I think the game Blood 2 even made a joke about it on a sign on the museum level.
Yeah, I couldn’t think of a better word at the moment. “schools of thought” is probably a better one for grouping overall themes that exist within the vegan movement.
If it helps give context, various … factions? (I’m not sure the best word here) consider honey OK and others do not. You can research that more if you want to get an idea of what some vegans might think.
I’ve been living without the first two for years now. I could live without youtube if I really needed to, though I do watch a lot of stuff about farming that is really helpful. Most of my youtube watching is educational with a slight smattering of games and entertainment and a tiny bit of news.
My dad, my classmate’s family, and I all had one in the early '90s. An old friend collected (probably still does) them and had a variety in his closet. I think we can safely say ‘at least around 20’ now.
Dad was also in a commodore user group back before the modern internet. Those meetings were always fun.
Ding-dong! It’s the Americans. Open the country; stop having it be closed.
My understanding was always that seeking out new pets was bad, but it was also bad to get rid of one if you already had it. I’m not a vegan, though I did date a couple many years ago and am basing this on what I remember from conversations.
I tried to read through the Wikipage, but it was just too dense for me so I asked an AI to summarize which I think it did pretty well:
So you’re saying a bot did a good job of summarizing a thing that you didn’t read? Wat?
Which is interesting because Japan has been pushing to replace all the washiki (squat) toilets in public places. I have a feeling handicap accessibility, aging populations, and (to a lesser degree) tourists are behind this. I hate squat toilets, but I have stomach issues that can make things messy regardless of diet, etc.
I bought a Pixel watch when my Garmin finally died and got a Pixel phone a few months before that to finally get out of Apple’s ecosystem. I did buy a tablet before that ran Android to make sure I didn’t hate it (and nearly gave up on it because my Amazon Fire Tablet was so shit, but I ended up replacing it with a better tablet), but I couldn’t care less about a pixel tablet or earbuds (well, headphones in my case; I despise earbuds), etc.
I really shouldn’t be having beer at all anymore, but I actually came to like a number of fairly hoppy IPAs. I do have issues with certain bitter things, but not others; I love black coffee, but I can’t stand high-cacao dark chocolate and some herbs with bitter notes.
I find this statement to be pretty yeet.
