I use radicals for CalDAV and save notes there together with my calendars. On Android there is jtx Board which let’s you work with them. Sadly on Linux I couldn’t find anything so I started writing something myself but don’t have much time to work on it https://github.com/jeena/JNotes
If that wasn’t on purpose than that was a big fuckup. I was sometimes thinking about testing Bitwarden but with this volatile license situation I’m not interested anymore.
Yeah a alternative launcher is the way to go, I use FL launcher but it’s similar. And what I like about android on the TV is that you at least get access to the system via adb and can turn off some things like the default launcher.

Pro tip: Install PieFed, it’s much easier to run because it’s just a python script and it’s way easier on the resources than Lemmy.
I use KeePassXC and use syncthing to sync the database to each devise I own. This way I always have the newest version if the database everywhere and don’t need to worry about Internet access at all.

Yeah it was a fully online thing, they also had like a forum where you could talk to the other people taking the course but they just gave everything on day one so you could do it at the pace you wanted.

Before I started university I already worked as a web and iPhone developer.
At university I failed some courses so I needed the points for three additional courses at the end of my studies.
Durin summer vacation I found online courses from a different university which would count towards my own points. So I registered for three of them. Web development, iPhone development and open source development.
When the courses started I waited until the weekend and then did all assignments and tests for all 3 courses during a single day. I started in the morning on Sunday at 10 am and sent in my last test at 11pm. So instead of half a year (one course takes normally half of a semester and I had three), I did it in one day.
I would suggest you have a look of immich.
It also has mobile apps to do the backup and as a frond end on the phone. And what I really like is you can mount in your existing external libraries without copying all the pictures in and they will just be integrated automatically.
So this is why I switched to the fediverse. But to be honest, I have no idea if someone does things like that here or not. All my posts are public to everyone and machine readable. The only thing which would prevent someone of survailing users on the fediverse is it’s very small scale. It is probably just not worth the effort.
What other alternatives are there than Lemmy, PieFed and Mbin which work grate together already without any extra apps?
