  • Patriotism and nationalism has zero place in society.

Not true. Patriotism is wanting and seeking the best for your country. Because our society relies on those physical divides, patriotism would actually improve society. Nationalism is deciding that whatever your country is doing already is the best simply by virtue of self-identification. There is no desire for improvement outside of an individual perception so it, functionally, can never offer any improvement for society.

One is potentially beneficial. The other is cancerous.

I think you’re missing the point a bit… bands represent things too. Wearing shirts from bands that you know nothing about runs its owns risks that are not dissimilar to the risks of wearing anything that sports a design or symbol you know nothing about. For all you know, they could be causing the same level of “harm” which, in its purest sense, is none since it’s just a shirt but could also be advertising something you’re completely ignorant to.

But sure… keep wearing that Lostprophets shirt because you think it looks cool…

lol. Yeah… I’m gonna just believe the guy that used the term “queer baiting” unironically… For Pete’s sake, man, be at least a little more subtle with your bigotry if you’re going to play the ”I have gay friends” card.

  • I played several games but the one that stands out the most to me is Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force. EF was based on the Quake III engine (idTech 3) and came with QERadiant, amongst other tools, that let you make your own maps for it. The story for the game was awesome and it was the first game that I think did justice to the atmosphere present in the show with only a little bit of the cheese. Once I finished the game, I went right into making my own levels for it. It was really amazing. I miss games like that and the fact that they came with the editing tools for them.

  • I feel like that would have worked considering that Burnham starts the show kind of as this hotshot. If the character development focused on the move from being an individual who thought she could do everything and needed no one else into someone realizing that she couldn’t live without the crew, it could have been a good show. There were glimpses of that in the show (the Mudd episode, for example where it literally took everyone to bring him down) but they always went back to everything is about Michael. It felt very similar to how I feel getting sick of how Star Wars can’t get away from the Skywalker family. Every story can’t always be about one character and their immediate family. It gets old.

  • It’s not my favorite but it’s up there. I think the premise of all the dithium exploding and seeing “the far future that feels less future” that the OP described was actually really cool to me. The previous season where Burnham has the magic flying angel rocket suit was pretty stupid and made it feel like there were no stakes.
