There is a flower photo side of Lemmy? Sharesies?
High temps as in sub 90 degrees F, yeah. Not desert hot. Haha
This is honestly beautiful
The only thing high temps have going for them is a long growing season for the garden and being able to swim.
Since I can’t ever find the time to hit the lake or rivers anymore, I’d be perfectly happy with a green house and becoming more efficient with my planting schedule.
Plus, in the winter I get to wear scarves and jackets with extra pockets. Extra pockets are nice.
This is why I pay taxes! Kenosha, please send as many hole-fillers as you can spare
Dammit, why did you remind me dollhouse exists? Now I’m sad there isn’t more dollhouse!
Bulbs v switches is actually why it took me so long to get them to begin in. Having bulbs, inherently disposable things, full of tech seems… Less than ideal. But where I live, the electrical is rough. Like, we have 1 circuit, the light circuit. Everything else is messed up and turned off at the box, including all the 220s, except for the water heater. Run everything off power strips and have to turn everything off to cook. Lol. I don’t want to mess with the electrical in this house. I want to move. Lol
In October of last year my mom came home from the ICU, now unable to get out of bed. I replaced all the bulbs in the house with smart bulbs and put the fans on a little smart plug thing. It made me really like the idea of home smart home features, but I’m not techy. They’re just Alexa enabled for her to use with the fire stick, and I use google home on my phone for em.
Can you offer any advice for ones that don’t require internet? Every time our power goes out (any time there’s a storm), I have to go around and reset them while they flash at me like the worst night club
Same, but not by choice. Lol
But for real, this is hella accurate. It took me a long time to realize that I won’t make the same decisions as my father, even if I happen to take a drink or something
I have no idea. I’ve got some lidocaine viscous they gave me for the pain. I’m lucky enough to have medical, just not dental. But from experience, it helps temporarily numb the surface pain, but if it’s in the root, or if you’re pulling the tooth, it does not help.
My first thought when I saw the headline was “Can it help me pull this tooth without it hurting so badly?”
The chaddest of Chad moves would be to name some bill something like ILANALOOKINGBILL and it’s a long ass acronym. Doesn’t have to be anything related to her or even gonna ever see a vote. Just name it that and tweet it out, and tag her.
Temperature was the first thing that really clicked for me, and the only one I never have to think about to translate, I just “know” what the temperature is both. I learned it by thinking of it as percentages. 0 is freezing, 0% of boiling. 100 is boiling, 100% of boiling. Lol. 30-40% of boiling is hot, and pretty good for a bath. Haha
It works pretty good, and you eventually you figure out which of your friends don’t actually like you! Lmao
Yeah, it’s sort of rare outside of, like, foodies and and YouTubers to use weight for cooking. We switched to it about a decade back, and it’s been amazing. That’s actually what got me to switch to metric for just about everything.
I’m American and that’s how I’ve started giving my height. I’m 191.
Just start being that pedantic asshole that people hate, and insist on using it. When someone asks what the temperature is, give it to em in c and make them do the conversion.
I set all my stuff to metric years ago and use it pretty much exclusively. I don’t actually make other people convert, I do it for em. But still.
Depends on what you’re wanting to learn. I’m a fellow tech illiterate noob, but I’ve been off and on with Linux since like 2006. Finally switched full time a few years ago. Honestly, with Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora I’ve found you basically can just set it and forget it, depending on your use case. YouTube has been my best friend whenever I have a problem, normally I type my issue into that before even google. How long have you been using Linux? If you’re still in the distro hopping phase,I suggest trying to swap Desktop environments instead of distros, as it gives you a little experience with the terminal, is well documented on how to do it, and gives you a good idea of what kind of UI you want
That’s all I got, though. I really am pretty illiterate at tech stuff haha
