Where I live, even our winter time isn’t close to be aligned with sun time (GMT+1 though we’re basically on the Greenwich meridian). Summer time is off by two hours.
Problem is, our school/work/activity schedules have been made to adapt to that, so having days centered around actual sun midday would sound like crazy talk to people. It’s just because of how we already compensated for it.
In France we did switch last week. Almost nobody cares about going out for trick or treat, though.
Not only nobody needs to do that trip that fast, but we’re not in the early 00’s anymore, and there has never been as many tools to communicate and collaborate remotely. So I’d expect a non-negligible part of these don’t even need to do the trip anymore if they want to save money and time.
Yeah, I am not sure I can relate either. My favourite games on the NES and SNES when I was a kid are still games I sometimes replay and enjoy today.
Closest thing to the comic I could find would be Ecco the Dolphin, maybe. I had the PC version, and I finished it a few times back then, I was stubborn and a bit bored. Not that long ago I tried returning to it, and maybe try the second game… And wow, it feels like a chore to play.
But even back then, it was not a game I liked that much. I liked how it looked, the creatures you’d meet and the crazy plot, but gameplay already felt tedious and stupidly unforgiving.
Probably why Tony Stark’s father is named Howard, too.
I’m usually rather passionate about space exploration and stuff, but we don’t need to send people to Mars that bad.

And they’re in it because of the “get rich quick” scheme and push others to get into the pyramid’s lower levels, because that’s how they might get richer. So they’re either bastards or being conned, or probably both.
Proof of work is a power/hardware catastrophe, and proof of stake is entrusting power to the already rich again. Crypto is not a new economy model, it’s a bad subset of the old one with fancy fake ideals.

Got a very old kindle for free, from someone getting rid of it. No touch, no backlight, most basic thing ever. I only got my account on it to download a dictionary.
I am never buying anything from Amazon to read on it, but I’ve been using it quite a bit, only on calibre converted stuff. It was not too hard to set up, and once it’s done it’s just drag n drop.
Also, getting over their fear of running water.

Tolkien estate usually doesn’t like their words used in random stuff. Sometimes I think they’re bordering on control freaks, but in that particular case, yeah, nuking that shit and forcing them to change their name wouldn’t seem unreasonable to me.
