Sadly yes. It’s especially evident to me whenever LineageOS is mentioned as THE way to install a non-standard OS. Not that long ago there were dozens of options for each device and Cyanogenmod (the grandpa of LineageOS) was just one of them, albeit a quite large one.

Even if it wasn’t, technological illiteracy cannot justify imposing a vendor lock-in upon the others. Installing an independent messenger like Signal is not rocket science.

Water resistance is something I do not want to notice because if I notice it, it means it has failed. Do I trust it completely? Hell no. Do I prefer to have it? Hell yea!

Obtaining it legally is one thing. Using it according to the license is at least just as important. Specifically if they trained it on content under GNU GPL or Creative Commons SA licenses, I’d like the result published under these licenses too.

It’s great to quickly draw a diagram or something similar to explain something to someone. I could use pen and paper but I prefer doing it on my phone since it’s already there. I don’t do it daily but I enjoy having this option. When I was taking a break from the Galaxy Note lineup I was sorely missing it.

Even better: make it a toggle. I prefer the current view, as I can easily glance at another application. I remember how on ICS I thought that if they are going to cut off most of the screen, why even bother with a preview at all? The icon would do just as well.
