I recently got a used gaming laptop for the rare times I’m away from home for a while (next time likely for christmas) so the plan is to put linux on that from the start and see how it goes. And maybe getting diagnosed for adhd and getting on medication will mean I actually have the motivation to switch from windows before it becomes absolutely necessary, though thankfully I don’t get any start menu ads since I got rid of those with WinAeroTweaker, so I’m mostly happy with it.

Though I’ve been having some weird crashing issues that look like broken ram but aren’t, so if I end up replacing my mainboard from that (because at this point idk what else it would be) I’d likely have to reinstall windows anyway, and at that point I’d just switch.

I can tolerate 10 well enough still given the de facto convenience of running windows for gaming, but the moment end of service comes around next year I’m switching to linux. I also have to use win 11 at work and it’s just infuriating how much worse it is. For one, they’re not weebs they’re just anime otaku, but also that is only a subset of anime and it’s mostly just a judgemental stereotype. They have ads on the subway for birthday events for popular anime characters ffs. Many pachinko machines are anime themed, including after late night anime which are the negatively stereotyped ones. Achievements or multiplayer matching not being implemented in the game itself isn’t on GOG. They still allow you to download and launch any game you’ve bought, without even requiring galaxy.

I think germany could have gone worse, and people are quick to see that the AfD has the second most votes and cry disaster, but reality is that left wing votes are just split between more parties. Overall “cdu and further right” seems to bd about evenly split with “left of cdu”.

But still, compared to both the previous EU election and the most recent national election, it got quite a bit worse. CDU and AfD combined were at 36% in the last national election, they’re up by about 5% each, and that while the CDU has been getting closer to the AfDs position in recent years.

I agree with pretty much all of that but I still wouldn’t say I hate dogs, both because none of that is the dogs fault and it’s still possible to have pleasant interactions with one. I would just much rather not be around a dog than be around one. This might just be a difference in what hate implies.

I feel similarly about children. Theyre loud and annoying and I dislike being around them, but I still have no intention of ever hurting one and would like them to be happy anyway.

There are animal haters that poison them. It’s not entirely a false equivalency.

The issue with it mainly comes from dogs being a different species while humans are still just humans and someones skin color has no significant correlation to their behaviour.

It’s still similarly stupid to hate all dogs by default because dogs still have personalities and some can be just fine. And I say this as someone that doesn’t like most dogs either.
