When there are 2 choices and you choose neither that is opting out of a decision, and nothing else. It’s throwing your hands up and saying “well i cant change it anyway, let’s just do nothing”.

Also, stop pretending like trumps and kamalas stances are identical. They’re not. Trump is right up there with netanyahu in seeing palestinians as subhuman.

And american voters also didn’t get to do anything about the palestinian genocide because there were two choices and pretending there were more is delusional at best. And the choice was between a party unwilling to take a strong stance against it vs a party actively encouraging it and saying they’d help. While also openly wanting to genocide minority groups in their own country.

Well, there is a third choice. It’s the centrist choice of either not voting or voting for an irrelevant party, equivalent to saying “let the others decide”.

The thing you’re missing here is that a lot of people are not capable of reading the animals’ body language. Hence, permit. Also the part where just taking some wild animal home as a pet isn’t ok, and to actually care for one you would usually require some pretty specialized knowledge.

I also fully agree that dogs above a certain size should require permits because holy fuck I know most of them are pretty chill and at most kinda loud but they still scare the hell out of me and I can’t trust their owners to control them in all cases. And while knowledge of how to handle them is more common, some people still fuck that up…

  • I recently got a used gaming laptop for the rare times I’m away from home for a while (next time likely for christmas) so the plan is to put linux on that from the start and see how it goes. And maybe getting diagnosed for adhd and getting on medication will mean I actually have the motivation to switch from windows before it becomes absolutely necessary, though thankfully I don’t get any start menu ads since I got rid of those with WinAeroTweaker, so I’m mostly happy with it.

Though I’ve been having some weird crashing issues that look like broken ram but aren’t, so if I end up replacing my mainboard from that (because at this point idk what else it would be) I’d likely have to reinstall windows anyway, and at that point I’d just switch.

  • I didn’t mind 7, some things I even thought were great compared to XP (like the search).

I can tolerate 10 well enough still given the de facto convenience of running windows for gaming, but the moment end of service comes around next year I’m switching to linux. I also have to use win 11 at work and it’s just infuriating how much worse it is. And conveniently Linux gaming got pretty good in the meantime, and I’ve been told I can now even set up a windows VM with GPU passthrough that activates when I start the VM for the cases where Linux just won’t work (though idk if that’ll work when the issue is anticheat, but I don’t play anything where that’s relevant anyway).

  • From what I’ve seen you have crossdressers self identifying as trap (a subgroup of all crossdressers and I could see how the term would be offensive to the rest as well) on one side and people that are unaware that group exists and think trap is exclusively a derogatory term for trans ppl (or think enjoying crossdressing MUST mean you’re trans) on the other.

It’s a whole mess as any offensive language tends to be, because words rarely ever only have one meaning and there’s also more than one language in the world but terms still cross from one language into others.

Honestly as long as you’re trying to be considerate of others I don’t think anyone can fault you, and that goes for everything. People will try to speak for everyone, but even when they do speak for the majority there are usually exceptions.

  • Sure, but where’s the upside? (ethically, not sure if consuming your own meat could have some sort of weird effect on you, even though afaik the usual cannibalism issues wouldn’t apply). If anything it’s more ethical to take it from yourself because you consent to it, the farm animal probably doesn’t.

  • For one, they’re not weebs they’re just anime otaku, but also that is only a subset of anime and it’s mostly just a judgemental stereotype. They have ads on the subway for birthday events for popular anime characters ffs. Many pachinko machines are anime themed, including after late night anime which are the negatively stereotyped ones. You know who doesn’t have enough money to be a profitable target for gambling establishments? People with no job living in a basement.

And that’s all while ignoring that pretty much no one chooses that life style voluntarily and I see no reason to make fun of these people.

  • Achievements or multiplayer matching not being implemented in the game itself isn’t on GOG. They still allow you to download and launch any game you’ve bought, without even requiring galaxy.

Also lesser known is the fact that there are DRM-free games on steam. Download them once, you can play without having steam running or even installed. Using a client to download isn’t inherently DRM either.

  • The second highest voted thing is mildly misleading because left parties are a lot more fractured, especially in EU elections. The afd could have 11% while 9 left wing partirs have 9.8% and be the most voted party, but that would be a better result than we have now with it being the second most voted.

The results are bad, but 16% is at least nowhere nesr a majority. I’m honestly more concerned about the CDU moving closer to the afd and still ending up with 30%, seems almost like many people don’t like the afd because they’ve been told afd bad, but still agree with much of their ideology.

  • I think germany could have gone worse, and people are quick to see that the AfD has the second most votes and cry disaster, but reality is that left wing votes are just split between more parties. Overall “cdu and further right” seems to bd about evenly split with “left of cdu”.

But still, compared to both the previous EU election and the most recent national election, it got quite a bit worse. CDU and AfD combined were at 36% in the last national election, they’re up by about 5% each, and that while the CDU has been getting closer to the AfDs position in recent years.

  • I agree with pretty much all of that but I still wouldn’t say I hate dogs, both because none of that is the dogs fault and it’s still possible to have pleasant interactions with one. I would just much rather not be around a dog than be around one. This might just be a difference in what hate implies.

I feel similarly about children. Theyre loud and annoying and I dislike being around them, but I still have no intention of ever hurting one and would like them to be happy anyway.

There are animal haters that poison them. It’s not entirely a false equivalency.

The issue with it mainly comes from dogs being a different species while humans are still just humans and someones skin color has no significant correlation to their behaviour.

It’s still similarly stupid to hate all dogs by default because dogs still have personalities and some can be just fine. And I say this as someone that doesn’t like most dogs either.
