Why would a man whose shirt says “Genius at Work” spend all of his time watching a children’s cartoon show?

I’ve had the odd stability issue every now and then. (There was one ongoing issue with my wifi that was caused by a bug in my manufacturer’s driver, but that was years ago on Windows 10, and they eventually fixed it.) But I honestly haven’t had any issues caused specifically by Microsoft recently that I can recall.

Any problems caused by major features updates are usually solved by simply reinstalling the driver. (And I haven’t had any of those sorts of problems in at least a couple years.)

It… only updates once a month, though. The second Tuesday of every month.

Any other updates are from the manufacturer/ software developer and not from Microsoft.

Well, time to install two new add-ons: Return YouTube View Counts and Return YouTube Upload Dates.

Somebody please make those.

For me, it’s not that Windows updates my drivers during a big update. It’s simply that Windows broke the driver while installing a big update.

I’ve had it happen where my Wi-Fi driver broke so it could only connect to an unprotected network. So I’d simply setup my phone as a hotspot and download the Wi-Fi driver from the manufacturer’s website and reinstall it. That’d immediately fix the issue. Though, actually, that issue hasn’t occured in years. The last time it happened, I think, was in the early years of Windows 10.

My understanding (unless they’ve changed it) was that a restart is a restart because software (either the OS or 3rd party software or both) may need the computer restarted to finish installing or updating stuff.

I’d heard that a shutdown wasn’t actually a shutdown, though.

No, viruses don’t mean the scientific definition of life. IIRC, the primary reason why is because, in order to make copies of itself, it must hijack a living cell’s reproductive system to do so. It can’t simply divide to make more of itself.

Most stores around me thankfully don’t even use the weight station. I don’t even think Walmart does anymore since they “upgraded” their checkouts recently. (The self checkouts have completely taken over and have a sort of open floor concept going on.)

That’s an option at some stores in the US. I believe Walmart has that option for Walmart+ members, and I know Sam’s Club has the option available in their app for all members.

In the US, you typically have to type in your debit/ credit card’s info (the 16-digit number, the 3-digit security code, the cardholder’s name, and the billing address on file with the bank) on a website in order to purchase something unless you’re using PayPal, Google Pay, or something similar to that that the website supports. If you’re using any of those, a pop-up usually opens asking for login info, then you select a card or bank account to use for the purchase.

IIRC, they’ve said they’ll implement V3 to maintain compatibility, but they’ll also continue to maintain V2. You, the extension developer, will not be forced to use V3 if you don’t want to.

That depends on how many people are in the family and how many people are paying their fair share. Odds are that the children won’t pay because, well, they’re children. Teenagers might pay their way depending on if they have a job or not. And many households only have one primary source of income (with maybe a side job providing just a little extra). Which means most people would probably be footing the bill themselves for the whole family.

First, backup your uBlock Origin settings. Next, try resetting your uBlock Origin settings.

For TV, assuming you have an Android TV, you can use SmartTube.

For mobile, use ReVanced. It’ll ask you to provide an APK of a specific version of the YouTube app, which you can download from here.

For PC, use Firefox and the uBlock Origin adblocker. I know you said you don’t use Chrome, but I’ll explain why people are saying not to use it specifically with uBlock Origin: Basically, with Chrome’s update to Manifest v3, that’ll greatly impact uBlock Origin and its ability to do its job.

All three options above also include the ability to enable/ install something called SponsorBlock. SponsorBlock uses community submissions to (based on the user’s preference) either skip or give the option to skip portions of a video such as sponsorship segments or “like and subscribe” segments among other things.
