I posted this somewhere else but I struggled into adulthood with analog clocks and learning to read them changed my relationship with time. I forced myself to learn to do it because I read about how it can improve time management skills. Now even my smart watch has an analog watch face, and one that puts my daily schedule onto the clock itself even.
Being able to read the hands and their movement kind of give a better sense of the units and movement of time itself. Totally recommend learning to properly read analog time.
I get that can help some people if coffee is part of your morning ritual. I never did coffee as a first first thing, setting it up the machine and then going about getting ready was always how I’ve done it. But I totally get, if you need it first thing a timer is great.
In my life personally, still can’t think of any appliance off the top of my head that needs to know what time it is.
Fair. I know I’m in the minority of people who feels they need a watch and constantly checks it, so anything other than the device on my wrist is just extra. Since I was a kid I’ve felt lost if I wasn’t wearing one.
The clock on the wall and watch, yeah, I actually use those for time. Everything else is more like, lol wtf does my coffee machine need the correct time for anyway
Bespoke hoodies and jeans becoming the new suit and tie
That’s a relief, was worried I was gonna have to figure out an alternative again
Does it actually? Genuinely want to know. I’ve been using Revanced since vanced stopped working and haven’t seen a single ad but maybe that’s because of other things I’m doing with my phone
Not the way I use legit sites!
Jokes aside, I agree and I hate it
I feel like they’ve had this for a while but maybe the specific situation is different. I might also be getting confused with Tapas.
Years ago I was reading “Extreme Dog Owner” while it was being released and was blocked out of latest episodes. So when the artist stopped the series it took a while before I realized the last few episodes would never get unlocked for me. Sounds like the same situation? Minus the huge piracy warnings.
Luckily I had a friend who bought it already then just read on their device.

Had me in the first half, not gonna lie
That was my first thought too; would this improve treatment for serious burn victims and such. Sounds like what they’ve made is better overall for sticking to applied surfaces and moving without tearing. Heck, maybe this could even lead to prosthetics that allow physical sensation
Crypto - Meh, I have digital banking and payment processing already, with easy enough international transfers. I’m good.
AI - I see the possibilities, I think we should continue to develop it even if just for the medical applications of machine learning. Right now people just like playing with it, but, privacy issues aside, I don’t think it’s a waste.
Yup! They did a remake in 2020, never watched it myself cause Hulu but I’ve heard some good things about it.
Older siblings always gotta help out with the homework, the tradition lives on.
I was always on the big brother side of this. My favorite was when my younger brother suddenly remembered they had to build a model of an imaginary animal and write a report on it the night before the due date. We stayed up while I built a model out of paper with a K’Nex skeleton and we talked about the stuff that he could write about it.
I thought it was all really scuffed and rushed but somehow he got an A
Just did this, growing seeds in light and dark, with some first graders. Blew their little minds.
Opening the box with the seeds that were in the dark for a week and seeing the sprouts all yellow, tall and grown towards a tiny little hole that no one noticed, the excitement was crazy.
Oglaf is a fucking treasure
