Rossmann was a lot better before he realized he could use his platform as a soapbox for weird right-libertarian politics. No, Louis, I didn’t come here to hear you rant about how much you have to pay in taxes, I want to know how you solved the problem of no power on this MacBook.

I also don’t get why he refuses to have accurate descriptions on his videos so they can actually be found when searching instead of having to skip through the videos to see, and instead just spams his parts store and a million other things on every video.

I had a chance to train with him, but went with Jessa at iPad Rehab instead, and I’m glad, because her class was an actual class plus dozens of hours of practical work, compared to Louis’s “come over to my shop for like 2 hours after we close and I’ll kinda just give you crap to do while bitching at you if you don’t understand my ineffectual explanations” that I’ve heard his class is from multiple people who took it.

Yes, but when your solution is to lock them up or have the cops come kick them out and move them along, you’re admitting you don’t actually care about solving the problem, only keeping it out of your sight.

Not to say that is what your solution is, but I live next to a high homeless population, but extremely affluent area, and the discussion on Facebook and Reddit would have you think that the only feasible solution is to build prisons and lock these people up forever, but they always preface it with that same needle complaint, as if that justifies dehumanization of people, and isn’t just an indictment on our systems.

  • I find it kind of the opposite. Since I got out of blue collar shift work, tech support, restaurants, etc, I haven’t been drug tested once.

That said, if you want to go to jobs that piss test and can’t or won’t stop smoking for long enough to pass, you can get fetish urine and use it to pass. I’ve used it at least five times myself, and never failed. It even comes with a temp sensor and hand warmer to keep it at body temp.

  • After Cod4, Vince Zampella left(well, it’s more complicated than that, but we’ll keep it simple) Infinity Ward, and a bunch of the team came with him to form Respawn. Titanfall 2 is probably still the best FPS Single Player campaign since Half-Life 2, and the multiplayer was an absolute blast, but the insanely high skill cap made for a difficult entry for new players. Vince Z is now working on the battlefield series, after the complete disaster that was 2042, but I’m not sure how much of the team is still around at this point, much less how many went with him to BF.

You’re right, they’re not. decentralized doesn’t imply federation, but federated implies decentralization.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_social_network

A distributed social network or federated social network is an Internet social networking service that is decentralized and distributed across distinct service providers (similar to email, but for social networks), such as the Fediverse or the IndieWeb.

Both kind of networks are decentralized. However, distribution goes further than federation. A federated network has multiple centers, whereas a distributed network has no center at all.

  • Many of those allow you to copy the files freely and move them between computers, even to computers that don’t have Steam. Hell, I played Half-Life on my Linux handheld yesterday, and I didn’t install it through steam. Just copied the files onto the SD card, set up a script to bind the controls, and launched the game.

Now, I’ll concede you must initially sign in to get access to the files, just as you must sign in to download installers on gog.

I use both often though. I play a lot on the aforementioned Linux handheld, and you can port pretty much any DRM-free game to it. Most surprisingly work better using the Steam version than they do the GoG version, though that is likely to be down to the handheld and not anything the stores are doing.
