Yeah, I’m probably not in the market for a fold phone, given I’m not a gentle owner. But of money was no object, I would get a trifold, because it feels meaningfully larger, and a more appropriate aspect ratio. The current folds really underwhelm me, even if they were so overpriced.
I really don’t care. I use Bluetooth headphones a lot and find them convienient, and I bought adapters for the two wired jacks I might use (some fancier wired headphones and a wired input for my hi-fi). Given wires are already a bit awkward I really don’t feel it makes any difference to add a little adapter to the end. I guess if I was wanting to plug my phone into lots of random headphone jacks while put and about, and didn’t want to carry an adapter, it would be an annoyance but it really doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
The article suggests the February update adds these features. If I check for updates on my pw2 it claims to be up-to-date, with January security updates, and none of those features.
Is this just one of those roll outs where different devices get it at different times? Or is there something I can do to get the latest version. I hate the current app list, felt like a bit step backwards from wear os 3, so I’m glad they’ve changed it.
Edit: just found that “Tapping the “Your watch is up to date” screen (Settings > System > System updates) multiple times initiates the download”. Worked for me after about a dozen taps!
How do you think it would hold up for someone who didn’t play back in the day?
I got my Trekkie mom the Star Trek 25th Anniversary game for christmas, but I defitnely ended up playing it more myself!

I’m totally the same, but star trek fan, love all the older stuff and have given the new stuff a try but only really love SNW. So many friends are raving about LD but I could get through more than a few episodes. I just didn’t like the characters, or find the plots interesting, and most importantly found it completely unfunny.
I’m super jealous of all the people who love it, and I’m not criticising it. But I just didn’t connect with the humor, and like most comedies, if you don’t find them funny then characters and plots seem dumb.
I’m going to persevere and try to make it through the first season, just because I WANT to like it. But humor is personal, and even a good show can’t connect with everyone. I wish I heard more comments saying “it gets better after…” but the people who like it seem to just like it, so I’m not hopeful.
I would have misgivings of using the character with René, but it wouldn’t be hard. He’s changeling, god dammit. It was one of the weird conceits of DS9 that odo kept the same humanoid form, and so the changeling who interacted with him did too (along with implausible excuses about “not being able to master the humanoid face”, or the changing virus).
Having spent time with the founders, you could easily recast “Odo” as a dozen different characters of different species and genders. Perhaps he has transcended the attachment to a single form that he developed from living among solids? I feel like watching some good actors do Odoesque performances could be quite interesting!
Any evidence for that theory? I guess I’ve used Bluetooth hesdphones for years, so I’ve not got skin in the game. Lots of android devices seem to not have a headphone jack. And each part removed is one less part to pay for, or replace, or have to water proof. I’ve not looked into it because I’m happy to trade sound quality for wireless convienece, but umarent headphones that use the usb c port comparable in quality to 3.5mm?
But if there’s a leaked memo or something that it was a concerted plan by the company that would certainly be bad.
I really want to like this and keep trying to convince myself that the little problems would be manageable… I’m not too fussed about bezels, the camera or the screen not being that bright. The processor and “sluggishness” seem like the main issue - is it noticeable during day to day use? I don’t play games but I do flick between apps a lot, is it noticeable?
And the charging seems frustratingly slow, even my midrange phone for a few years back had 65w charging. Is there an external battery charger? That way I could always be using my phone and just have a couple of spare batteries that can be charged externally.
SwiftKey. There’s some things I don’t love about it, but I’m trapped by swipe punctuation and predicting emoji from words. Every so often I get mad at SK and try something else, but it never lasts.
Whenever it gets down to the 30s if there’s a charger available, but only to around 80. This ends up being once or twice a day depending on usage (i sometimes watch hours of videos while doing chores and that sucks my battery).
Yeah, despite having quite a lot of accidental backswipes, it’s not annoying enough to go back to buttons over gestures. Especially when browsing and scrolling, my fingers are not down at the bottom of the phone.
I watched the first episode and noped out of it, but I was tempted to skip first season. Do you think starting with season three would work? I’m not particuarly completionist, and I’m sure I can fill in the blanks…
