I did not want to suggest those features should be forced into the Android version, the normie user wouldn’t like that anyway, but those are the exact cases where an actual desktop browser, via Termux, is useful.

Even though FF Android has been getting closer and closer to having all features of FF Desktop, like Extensions, therefore UA switcher, and a way to pretend to be a desktop browser, I’m still missing full responsiveness settings (ie. pretending the size of your browser is like a tablet) and browser editing tools. The actual FF desktop program, running via Termux in a Linux environment, would have all these features.
Because many graphical apps don’t run natively on Android. They do on Linux.
eg. a full web browser, proper IDE or more powerful image manipulation program.
I just stay away from countries where they have the authority to do that.
5.49€ for a USB-C to USB-C condom, and I can’t even find a USB-C charge only cable.
900€
Beware, Motos cameras are and will always be shit tho. Everything else, including the ROM, is much better than what competitors produce tho, especially for the price.
My 6.7" Edge 20 fits into my hand pretty well though …
Even worse, unlocking the bootloaders isn’t supported anymore since the edge 30. That was the reason why I got an edge 20, so I could use it much longer. So either they deliver longer updates on the edge 50, or I’m going to switch to the fairphone at some point.
You can already just install UbuntuTouch
- The network is compliant with industry standards for unwanted tracking, triggering alerts on both Android and iOS devices.
- Users have full control over which of their devices participate in the network and how.
Things Apple still can’t do after years.
A gaming phone will obviously need more RAM, that’s why ROG phones etc. have 12 GB or more. I currently have 8 GB, which is definitely more than enough for “normal” gaming, with spotify open in the BG. My old phone had 3 GB, which was OK for gaming, and perfect for other tasks. With newer Android versions and newer system apps that would be different tho. In general, all manufacturers will deliver enough RAM, so you can just ignore that specification in your use case, and focus on support length, size and camera quality.
How about they allow us to use the special assistant button from some manufacturers to be used for anything? Would be much more useful.
iOS, as far as I remember, only supports WebDav. Which is useless with an SFTP server, ofc. And yes, there is the solution of installing another file server, configuring it, maintaining it, ripping a new hole into the Firewall, and fiddling around with file permissions, but that sucks, obviously. You could of course buy (or even subscribe to, I believe) a third party, closed sourced, app.
Then there’s Android, with FOSS apps like RemoteFiles, because sideloading.
Or just mount it with rclone.
And in my case, I don’t need an actual mount anyway, because the FOSS Keepass2Android has native SFTP support, because it makes sense to have it.
Because most Apple users don’t even know what a phone actually is and don’t give a fuck about anything related to anything technical, apart from having the newest (same as always) device. Otherwise they wouldn’t be Apple users.
Probably so LibreTube etc. is not the first option in the share menu
Buying or updating an app requires system-wide sign in
Only if one uses the official play store. Which apple does not understand, ofc.
Because many only have seen Apples scam devices and nothing else.
So I can just return the phone after 4 years, and get a new one, to have updates for more than 2 years? Nice! Or they could open up the Bootloader again, like my Moto Edge 20 has.
