me in college, at the end of every semester: “so…what would my final grade be if i just…didn’t write this paper…”
Thankfully I had the opposite: “So if I ace this assignment, I’ll go up another letter grade?” This does not translate to graduate work where there isn’t grading though.
LOL for me it was “if i just slam dunk all these piddly assignments, then i’ll have plenty of cushion to bomb the hard stuff at the end and still come out with a b”
I find that I am willing to spend an unfortunate amount of time avoiding the thing and calculating the consequences of not doing whatever the thing is, but end up doing it anyway while being continuously stressed about not doing it and then actually having to do it.
Can’t win.
