Funny enough, my parents used Spanish as a 'secret language’s when they needed to talk about something sensitive in front of us kids (or just something they didn’t want us to understand). Was the motivation for most of us to take Spanish at some point

My mom’s Puerto Rican. Tried to speak Spanish to her and, while she appreciated the effort, she said I speak like a gringo!
