Based on my last post I updated my site to include a running “hall of fame” list that features media with the most overlaps (currently not much there). This was something that the community sort of glommed on to, so I made it a feature.
It’s all based on user searches, try to beat the “high score” !
also almost immediately one of you won with Star Trek TNG as an option…I have no culled any Star Trek shows from showing up in the hall of fame…
Dude, Pillboi is Rutherford…
I’ve known that since day 1, still can’t hear him. Testament to the actor’s ability
I am somehow very happy with the show at the top in the Hall of Fame. Surprised, I guess, but very happy.
Controversial opinion, but I was disappointed to see such a shitty show so high on the list.
E: when I checked the show at the top of the list was Seinfeld. I see it’s LA Law now, my feelings against which are much less extreme. 😝
Invalid opinion
This is a fun idea, and a nice website! Kudos.
One thing to be careful of: warn people not to use Memory Alpha hotlinks for images, or refuse to accept them if possible. They look like they work to whoever tries to post them, but that is illusory; the image is preserved in their browser cache but is not visible to anyone else.
Hi thanks. I don’t know what you mean by the memory alpha thing, could you please elaborate, if this runs up against any terms of service or the general principles of ST fandom, I’m all ears
Memory Alpha doesn’t want people linking their images on external sites (which costs them bandwidth without getting any traffic), so they refuse to render images linked on another site. It’s not a legal or moral problem to link these images, they just won’t work.
For an example of what this looks like, go to Commander Shelby’s page and check out the image of her in TNG. If by some chance you were the person who added that image, either clear your browser cache or go to the page in a different browser to see the problem.
hm interesting I see what you mean. So I actually pull all character images from Memory Alpha! It’s strange why Elizabeth Dennehy first image is not rendering, while the second one is. I don’t do any particular caching on my end per se, maybe my hosting solution (Vercel) has some part to play here, not sure.
That is bizare. Those are both static.wikia.nocookie.net/memoryalpha links, and interestingly both fail for me when I attempt to view the images in a new tab. I don’t see any different flags in either link, so I have no idea what’s up with this.
Great site! Alexander Siddig was on the first episode of Foundation, btw.
I love how Jeffery Combs alone is second place for number of connections.
Not sure why AGIMUS is counted twice, though!
